HELLO WORLD

It all starts with the first one and this is it. The first blog we write under our new brand name Cyclups. We’ve come a long way since 2019 when we went on a backpack trip to Asia and Oceania coming home with a sense of disenchantment and a head full of ideas. Those ideas have led to our first products: raw straws. From there, we’ve developed a non-plastic based on wheat with our partner Chemelot, part of DSM. Looking back, it has been an amazing journey and the journey has just begun. Today we are Cyclups, a plantastiq company with a huge ambition: Creating a plastic-free world. We’ve been developing cutlery, ice spoons and most of all, a granulate. A granulate that can help existing injection molding and extrusion companies to make the change from plastic to the new non-plastic. On a personal level, we realized that once you have a dream, all you need then is perseverance, energy and the ability to keep going, even when the going gets tough. As Loa Tzu said it: “A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.” Not only our journey, but the journey of many of us. That includes changing our habits using ‘old’ plastic and switching to a plantastiq alternative. We will make this transition as easy and beautiful as possible.
